Foundation course overview

The Foundation Certificate in Software Testing is the ISEB standard qualification for software testing. It provides visible evidence that an individual understands the basics of software testing. The course syllabus covers the fundamental elements of software testing.

Software testing ISEB foundation certification now has dual accreditation with the ISTQB (International Software Testing Qualifications Board) and successful candidates will receive certification with both ISEB and ISTQB recognition at Foundation level.

Training objectives

The objective of the course is to prepare delegates for the certification exam for the ISEB foundation certificate in software testing. This means that by the end of the course delegates should be able to:
  1. Perform effective testing of software
  2. Be aware of software testing techniques and standards
  3. Have an awareness of what testing tools can achieve
  4. Understand where to find more information about testing
  5. Establish the basic steps of the testing process

Who should attend

This course is intended for anyone who has a role or interest in software testing. This includes testers (both technical and user acceptance testers), test analysts, test engineers, test consultants, and managers (test managers, project managers and quality managers).

This qualification examines up to level K3 of the given learning objectives / levels of knowledge.

This certificate provides the basis from which the candidate can progress towards the next level of development - the ISEB Intermediate Certificate in Software Testing.
